Global Wedding Academy raises the bar with 100% success: 56% students graduate with honours and distinction.
A batch of 24 students recently graduated from the Global Wedding Academy by WizcraftMIME. The prestigious graduation ceremony was held at the DICE Academy, One India Bulls, Mumbai and was attended by stalwarts of the Indian event management industry. The country’s leading Global Wedding Academy program, the WizcraftMIME curriculum is supported by the country’s Media and Entertainment Skills Council and the DICE Academy whose administrators further host the accomplished programs for fashion by Parsons and media by WPP.
This year, 24 students graduated with flying colours; 56% secured above 70% and 13% of the students scored above 80%. The students leave the academy ready to create their own brand of magic in the social events space. Sabbas Joseph, co-founder-Director, WizcraftMIME Global Wedding Academy delivered the Commencement address, encouraging students to never measure success by another’s benchmark but to change the rules, learn from their mistakes and setbacks and always ‘Think Different’ because they are the chosen ones!
The ceremony was started with the lamp lighting a warm welcome address by Director Neha Seth Arora, who thanked the parents for believing in the academy and their children and promised the parents that their children would make take revolutionary strides within the wedding industry.
Sushama Gaikwad, Co-founder and Director, WizcraftMIME, addressed the students, inspiring them to keep innovating and persevering despite unforeseen eventualities, living their dreams and raising the bar at all times. She thanked the students for believing in their dreams and the academy and imbibing the learnings and embracing the stringent challenges of the 6-month certification programme.
Subsequently, author of the Soulful Seeker, Punam Chadha-Joseph shared a poem that she wrote called ‘Happy To Be Me’, which resonated with the theme of the celebrations and the message of ‘hope and happiness’ that she highlighted.
Following the heart-warming poem, a special film captured the highlights of the journey of the new graduates, from students to professionals, from dreamers to ready-to-deliver experts. The film further showcased the hard work the students had put in over 6 months- efforts that involved live masterclasses, workshops, market visits, ground experience on live projects and more. The students spoke about the course in glowing terms, referring to the program as “the best decision”, “a life-transforming experience”, and even stated that “career dreams do come true when you are taught by the best in the industry and given the best training”.
The guests, the parents, and the students could feel the excitement in the air as stalwarts of the industry, many of whom are guest faculty and mentors at the Academy, came to celebrate the 100% success of the batch. Industry giants such as Tanaz Basrur, CEO of Trinity Entertainment, Author & Poet; Punam Chadha Joseph; Aarti Mattoo, Managing Director of Momentum Experiences; Pramod Gaikwad, Co-Founder and Director, Ice Global Events; Rahul Gomes, Director, OMCPL Ltd; Shreya Dakshesh Mistry, Founder Director, 60 seconds; Dr Suhani Mendonsa, Founder of Yellow Spider Events; Bhavesh Thakkar, Director, Jess Ideas; Gaurang Jobanputra, Group Manager, Client Servicing & Execution, Times Group; Harsh Shodhan, Executive Chef of Gourmet Kitchen & Studio; Anupam Sharma, Digital Media Consultant, as well as campus partners from the Dice Academy, were present to commemorate the occasion.
The faculty were so impressed with the standard of education and training that right after the convocation a number of students were interviewed and offered employment. The graduating students showcased their learnings through a fashion show that had a social message highlighting humaneness, and protection for life and the environment. Post the certification, the celebrations began with students and faculty cutting the graduation cake. The evening ended on a high with students throwing their graduation hats in the air to mark the momentous occasion.
