Even by general Indian wedding standards, the union of childhood sweethearts Anissa Malhotra and Armaan Jain, was absolutely breath-taking! Held between Grand Hyatt and The St. Regis in Mumbai, the wedding certainly put the ‘Indian Dream’ on display. Armaan got down on one knee and popped the question early last year. The couple’s love and adoration for one another is reflected in all aspects in their life, including social media, where Armaan takes to Instagram regularly to express his affection. Even when announcing the wedding, he stated, “Finally #anissamaangayi! Welcome Mrs. Jain!! We both are so excited to begin our life together as husband and wife and want to thank everyone for all their love and blessings….”
The lovebirds kicked of the festivities with a mehndi ceremony on the 2nd of February. Being a part of the celebrated “Kapoor Klan” himself, Armaan’s wedding to Alissa was attend by Bollywood A-listers such as Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karishma and Kareena Kapoor, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and Kiara Advani, amongst others. The couple chose a ‘Colorful Chic’ theme, and ensured that all eyes were on them as they graced their function in their classy outfits. Armaan sported a soft pink bandhgala, while Anissa looked ravishing in a lime green lehenga. The flamboyant and vibrant drapes, paired with the massive butterflies kept with the theme beautifully, making the mehndi a night to remember. With flowers and butterflies adorning the ceilings, the venue was dominated with tints of purple and gold. Power-packed performances from Armaan’s cousins Kareena and Karishma Kapoor added to the delight of the evening.
Following the mehndi, the wedding was an event fit for royalty. Armaan chose a simple off-white Sherwani, while Anissa went for a more traditional red lehenga with gold detailing. The baarat was a creative and jolly journey, where the groom arrived in style in an open vehicle with his Kapoor cousins flanking either side. Gorgeous red and pink flowers dangled above the mandap as the couple exchanged vows. The preceding event’s floral theme followed as dazzling flower arrangements surrounded the couple on this memorable evening.
As a finale to the grandeur, the couple hosted their sangeet at The St. Regis Mumbai. Anissa looked stunning in a glittery silver lehenga and Armaan followed suit in a black bandhgala. Bollywood giants like Shahrukh and Gauri Khan, the Ambanis, Anil Kapoor, Athiya Shetty, Malika Arora, Rani Mukherjee, Karan Johar, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, and Sonam Kapoor graced the event. The couple posed happily before the large #AnissaMaanGayi sign that greeted the guests as they walked in. The night was truly a fantastic culmination of the grand wedding, with performances from Shahrukh Khan, Karan Johar, and Kareena Kapoor adding to the merriments. The couple made everyone go “aww” when they took to the stage to dance with each other and remind everyone what a remarkable pair they make!
